a brass ring of swirled glass over eleven feet of boucle, forty feet up from a limestone street. Six things in it are real and priced.

Watch the room

A brushed-brass ring hung with swirled glass, three feet across. The render draws flat glass discs on the ring where this has cylinders — the ring, the brass and the swirl in the glass are the same, and no disc version of this exists in stock anywhere I could find it.

Eleven feet of cream boucle in an L with the chaise on the window side. Modular, so you order the corner and the chaise for your own wall rather than buying a shape that nearly fits.

Solid stone, no legs. The render sets a white slab on a recessed bronze plinth so it appears to float; this is the same trick in the round, and the shadow gap under it is what does the work.

Pale grey broken into soft facets. In a room with this much south light a warm rug goes orange by three in the afternoon; a cool one holds the cream furniture where it should be.

Washed gold and grey, six feet wide, no frame to speak of. It sits above the console on the only solid wall in the room, and it is deliberately the same value as the plaster so it reads as texture rather than as a picture.

Nine feet of silver-green in the corner the windows do not reach. In a room where every other line is straight, the tree is the only thing allowed to be irregular.
